McMahon prepared design documents for the replacement of the Henry Woods Bridge crossing Bushkill Creek in PennDOT District 5-0. The existing pony truss, surrounded by state park lands and the Jacobsburg Historical District, was damaged during flooding from Hurricane Ivan. This project involved preliminary thru final design of a pre‐stressed concrete, spread box beam and tasks include TS&L, H&H report, and complete PADEP Chapter 105 Joint Permit Package. Unique project features included right‐of‐way acquisition involving State Park Land purchased through Project “70” Land Acquisition and Borrowing Act funds and the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Act, in addition to lands associated with the Jacobsburg Historical District. The project included significant coordination with the District, Central Office, FHWA, DCNR, and the Historical Society to minimize the required right‐of‐way and facilitate the “No Adverse Effect” finding for this project pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
