John S. DePalma has experience in transportation design/planning, traffic engineering and highway design since 1975. He has developed projects for state and local governments in Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, and has served as Principal-in-Charge/Project Manager, on significant projects for limited access highway development plans, corridor evaluation studies, and roadway and signal design projects. He has managed projects ranging from simple intersection and roadway operation and safety improvement projects, to complex corridor traffic signal coordination and optimization, to limited access highway design and rehabilitation projects. Mr. DePalma serves as Principal/Vice President for the firm, and is the Regional Manager of McMahon’s Florida operations, and is responsible for all work produced by the Florida offices.
Mr. DePalma has considerable experience developing and leading public involvement programs. He has facilitated workshops that built consensus among the public, businesses and special governmental agencies, on a variety of projects, ranging from interstate rehabilitations, corridor improvement projects, to multiple neighborhood traffic calming projects. In doing so in these public workshops, he explains the project’s scope, answers questions, and by carefully listening to the concerns of the community, builds consensus among the various bodies to implement the projects.
