Joseph DeSantis (JD) is the President of McMahon and responsible for the firm’s overall strategic direction, financial growth and business development. As leader of the firm since 2010, Joseph led efforts that have doubled revenue and size of the firm to 15 offices and more than 200 employees with more than 20,000 projects completed. Since joining the firm in 1986, Joseph served in various management positions throughout the company’s extensive growth, playing a major role in fostering the organizational structure which enabled the company to expand from fewer than 10 employees in one location to the size and locations McMahon envelopes today.
In addition to managing the firm, Joseph serves as Principal-in-Charge/Project Manager on major complex projects, drawing on this comprehensive traffic and transportation engineering experience. He participates in the planning, design, and implementation of traffic signal and roadway improvements for departments of transportation in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Florida, as well as for counties, municipalities, and private development. In recent years, he has served as Township Traffic Engineer for various municipalities, specializing in helping to secure sufficient funding for critical roadway improvements.
Joseph is a licensed Professional Engineer in six states, and certified as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer by the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). He is an Associate Member of ITE and an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE), and American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
