McMahon was retained by the Town of Walpole to design intersection and roadway improvements on Coney Street and to prepare construction documents for bidding. The primary goal of the project was to provide vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle improvements along Coney Street, using a MassWorks funding grant.

The project was designed utilizing the latest MassDOT standards and project coordination with MassDOT District 5. McMahon’s design consisted of approximately 2,000 feet of roadway improvements that included drainage/stormwater improvements (bio-retention dry swale and leaching catch basins), sewer infrastructure improvements, sidewalk reconstruction and driveway modifications. In addition, McMahon obtained a permit to modify the Town’s drainage system that connects into the State’s Route 1 drainage system. We also provided intersection signalization and traffic signal coordination.

McMahon provided the following services for this project:

  • Preparation of construction plans and documents

  • Construction bidding services

  • Construction administration services

Throughout the project, McMahon conducted multiple meetings with Town officials and project stakeholders. The project was completed on-schedule and on-budget and constructed in the Summer of 2020.
