McMahon completed a Point of Access Study for the Krumsville Road (S.R. 0737)/Exit 40 Interchange on Interstate 78 in order to evaluate the design and safety issues at the existing interchange and propose solutions. McMahon’s services included existing and future traffic projections and analysis and the evaluation of the impacts of the several interchange alternatives. McMahon evaluated traffic analysis for its
no-build alternative and 10 design options.
McMahon recommended the construction of a full diamond interchange with the realignment of S.R. 0737 where it crosses mainline I78 and T-822 where it ties into S.R. 0737. McMahon prepared the FHWA Point of Access Study with supplemental technical analyses and met the eight policy requirements for approval of the access.
