The Malvern Multimodal Study took a comprehensive approach to evaluating existing transportation issues in Malvern Borough and identifying strategies to improve the transportation network. Multimodal recommendations were developed to enhance the transportation network to improve access for all users and encourage non-vehicular travel; improve operations and safety for transportation network users; and promote active transportation to improve the health and well-being of residents.
The multimodal solutions focused on pedestrian mobility and safety throughout the municipality; street design and utilization; strategic measures to improve traffic operations and safety at key intersections through improved traffic control, pedestrian accommodations, traffic calming, and geometric design modifications; as well as identifying potential bicycle connections to nearby regional trails.
The study included a comprehensive public outreach component to identify key transportation concerns including an online survey and community workshop.
