McMahon was the Consultant for a Continuing Service Traffic Signal Design Contract with Palm Beach County Traffic Division. Assignments included preparation of design construction plans for school zone signs and flashers, as well as traffic signal installation plans. The school zone project was a LAP project, requiring coordination with FDOT District Four, for the installation of school zone signing and pavement markings and overhead sign and flasher equipment at five (5) school locations.
One traffic signal design task included the design of construction plans for a new mast arm traffic signal, located at West Atlantic Avenue and Sims Road. This was an existing three-legged intersection and was designed to accommodate a planned fourth leg. This project required permitting with FDOT.
Another traffic signal design task included design construction plans for a permanent span wire signal, located at Mizner Club Drive and Lyons Road. This signal will replace a temporary signal, in conjunction with a County roadway project. Work efforts on these tasks included utility coordination and provided survey, geotechnical, subsurface utility engineering and structural engineering components.
In addition to the design work tasks, the County also assigned McMahon a work task order for traffic study reviews to supplement County Traffic Division staff.
